Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation, recently attended a symposium with representatives of the women's federations at all levels in North China's Hebei Province, to study the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Shen exchanged opinions on studying the spirit of the fifth plenary session and discussed the measures to implement the spirit with presidents of the women's federations at all levels in Hebei, presidents of the women's federations of private enterprises and representatives of the group members of the women's federations.

Shen stressed that the women's federations should stay focused on achieving the goals and tasks set at the fifth plenary session, guide women to make consistent efforts and play a role in the new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country and serve women in improving their life quality and well-being in the new stage of China's development.

The women's federations were urged to provide platforms and create conditions for women to participate in high-quality development, guide women — especially women scientific and technical workers, entrepreneurs and college students — to devote to fostering a new development paradigm, and encourage women to make new contributions in the industries of modern service, advanced manufacturing, digitization and e-commerce.

Shen also called for more efforts to support the development of industries including housekeeping service, handicrafts, tourism and modern agriculture, consolidating the achievements made in poverty alleviation and synchronizing poverty eradication with rural vitalization.

Shen urged the women's federations at all levels to provide targeted services for women, and enhanced women's sense of fulfillment, happiness and security.
